The Damon System

What is the Damon System all about?
Actually it is a revoluationary approach to orthodontic treatment due to a unique orthodontic bracket which is attached to the teeth. The Damon bracket utilizes a self ligating (self tying) mechanism instead of elastics to hold the wire into the brace.

This allows the wire to be secured to the bracket without the added friction and tightness that traditional elastics can create. This design improvement results in dramatically faster tooth movement using much lower force – meaning straighter teeth faster…and much more comfortably than before.

Damon braces are beneficial for patients of all ages. Adult patients benefit from them because of the low forces and can now enjoy faster treatment than ever before. Damon brackets are also indicated for patients with periodontal (gum) problems due to the light forces they deliver. As a result, all of our patients treated with the Damon system can now be finished in less time, with fewer visits and far less discomfort than ever before.

Cosmetic treatment
With a commitment to patient satisfaction and state of the art treatment, we also offer Invisalign® aligners and cosmetic (clear) brackets for the front teeth. Many adults prefer the added benefits of “invisible” braces and feel good about their treatment as it is less obvious than metal brackets. Dr. Suzuki will review your treatment options at the time of your consultation and determine which system is best suited to your treatment needs.

GETTING STARTED

The Initial Examination
Initial assessment exams are performed at no charge. During this visit, Dr. Suzuki will discuss probable length of treatment, types of treatment options that may be feasible, possible appliances that may be used to achieve the desired result, and probable fees. You will also be asked to fill out a health questionnaire at this appointment.

If treatment is indicated, diagnostic records will be made of the patient (moulds, xrays and pictures). Dr. Suzuki evaluates each case and structrures a treatment plan to achieve maximum result in minimal time.
