Will Kids At School Make Fun Of Me Because I Have Braces?
It is doubtful that anyone will make fun of someone that has braces in school and this is for several reasons. The first is braces have changed from the days when children were teased, having braces no longer means having a mouth filled with shinny metal that covers most of the teeth. Another reason is that more children are wearing braces because dental care is taken more serious than ever before.
The new types of braces are barely visible unless you are close up to a person that is wearing braces and even if people know today there are all of the fancy colored bands that can be worn to make a statement rather than hide the braces to not be teased.
Wearing braces no longer means being made fun of at school because there is not the mouth filled with metal that can be seen ten desks away. The newer braces are made in a way that they are not highly visible while at the same time working more effectively than the large metal braces of the past. Even if the braces on one set of the teeth are metal, they are not the large bulky braces of the past and mostly will go unnoticed.
One thing that a child can look forward to is braces are not worn as many years as they were in the past because they work more efficiently and that means properly aligned teeth and a great smile sooner.
