Jonathan Suzuki Vancouver / Coquitlam Orthodontist

Dr. Jonathan Suzuki was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent most of his life growing up in the university city of London, Ontario – where his father was professor and head of the Restorative Dental Department at the University of Western Ontario for many years.

After graduating with a degree in Zoology from the University of Western Ontario in 1991, Dr. Suzuki decided to follow his father's footsteps in dentistry and was accepted into the dental program at the University of Manitoba.

After graduating in 1995, and showing a continued interest in orthodontics and oral maxillofacial surgery at the time – he was accepted into the General Practice Residency program at the University of British Columbia to further his education.

It was during this stint that Dr. Suzuki developed his love of Vancouver and the people that live here. It was also during this time that Dr. Suzuki decided that he would return to graduate school to further his studies in orthodontics.

Dr. Suzuki returned to Winnipeg for three years to complete his Master's degree in Orthodontics there.

Dr. Suzuki has been a certified specialist in orthodontics since 1999 and is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is past president of the British Columbia Society of Orthodontists (07/08) and has also been a member of the Practice Standards Committee at the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. 

On September 2008, Dr. Suzuki was appointed to the first Board of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC under the new legislation (Health Professions Act) - which is the governing body for the profession of dentistry in British Columbia.  Dr. Suzuki is also a member of the Inquiry and Registration Committees at the College which are responsible for dealing with public complaints and licensing of dentists respectively. Dr. Suzuki is also serves as the College representative for the Dental Specialists Society of BC.
